Vaporizer Temperature: What Is Ideal?

Vaporizer Temperature: What Is Ideal?

For concentrate, the typical temperature range is between 500-600 degrees Fahrenheit. For dry herb the ideal temperature is 320 degrees to 430 degrees Fahrenheit.

Using a vaporizer is the next step for casual smokers. It provides the best of both worlds in terms of high functionality, and dependability, and it creates the perfect hit specifically for you. While some vapes are more complicated than others, there is still a learning curve.

At the end of the day, nobody wants to take a hit that's too harsh...or on the other side of the coin, a hit that gives you absolutely nothing. While many take a few unnecessary hits to figure out where the best temp can be, we here at iKrusher have put together a lesson for vaping at the right temp.

We all have different preferences, but the following is meant to guide you to the right experience.

First, Let's Talk About Convection VS Conduction Vaporizing.

Conduction is when the plant material is in complete contact with the heating element. If you are vaporizing at too high of a temp, then you may burn or even torch the product.

Convection is when there is space between the plant material and the heating element. This causes "vaping" as opposed to burning the plant material.

Low Temp Vaporizing

There is often a "one way then the other" when it comes to figuring out the perfect middle ground for your vaping experience. If it's up to your own devices in order to figure things out, we will start with low temp vaping. It takes CBD approximately 315 degrees F before they start to burn. Even if you choose this temperature (we recommend you go higher) you may get next to nothing out of your hit. At a minimum, we suggest starting your vaping at 325-350 degrees F. At this stage, you will notice slight burning of your product. While this may be the case for what you like, this isn't for everyone, so let's continue.

Even at this temp level, you may not get what you are looking for out of your product. Typically vaping at this temp means there is less inhalation as well as too little of a product to give you the hit you want. Make sure you have your trusty carb cap ready to go!

There are some upsides to vaping at this level though. The effects can be minor. Issues such as cottonmouth, redness of the eye, and paranoia are also less likely to happen at this stage.

Medium Temperature Vaporizing

At 350-400 degrees F you start to feel the hit more effectively. This is a good middle ground between high-temp and low temp. If you think of your hits like a bowl of porridge in "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" then this is the "just right".

While you will feel some side effects a little more, the overall feeling of euphoria and peace of mind (depending on what strain you have) will be heightened. While you might have a little more of a throat hit, this is one of the best areas to have your vape. Now, keep in mind that 350-400 degrees F might not be a big jump, but there is a lot of wiggle room in there if you want to. go a little lower or a little higher. At 350 degrees, there is a chance that it will be too low. So we suggest vaping in the absolute middle of the middle at 375 degrees F. From there you can work out if you like a little bit stronger or a little bit softer of a hit.

While these temperatures are a better starting point than extremely low or extremely high, some users may feel like it's not enough. We understand this. While it's a good idea to play the safe route, other users would find that a high-temp hit gives them everything they want...and they aren't wrong.

High Temp Vaporizing

As we mentioned in low temp, welcome to the other side of the coin. Vaping at high temperatures can lead to some really rough hits. On the other hand, it also provides users with the most optimal way to get the most out of each hit.

You see, these high vaporizing temperatures enable plant material to vape all the way through. This is to ensure that all terpenes and plant material are used up. Many heavy users will find this to be the best option for them. This temperature is between 400-430 degrees F. So again, there isn't much higher in terms of what it may appear, but it also goes a lot further than medium or low-temp vaping.

Something to consider when vaping this high is using a water filter system such as a bubbler. The industry has plenty of options to fit your needs!

At The End Of The Day, It's Your Choice!

When you are starting out, it's a safe bet to start in the middle. If you need to go lower, just go lower. If you need to go higher, just go higher! It's not rocket science (we did all the leg work already).

Vaping is meant to be an enjoyable experience. This is why we have dedicated our time and experience to those who might be new to the industry. iKrusher develops vaping hardware that, while we put a lot of technical expertise into them, we also make the user experience easy and fun to use. This is why we encourage those who are looking to make the switch from traditional inhaling methods to vaping. We encourage users to "Vape Different".
