How To Charge Your Vape Pen Correctly

How To Charge Your Vape Pen Correctly - iKrusher

Knowing how to charge your vape pen is the best way to keep vaping for far longer than you normally should.

Listen, we get it. Your vape pen isn't the biggest thing to think about during your day. Unfortunately, when it doesn't work it (very quickly) becomes a big deal. Do you know the saying "You don't know what you have until it's gone"? Well, that happens far too often in the vaping world. Charging your vaporizer the wrong way can lead to shorting out and overheating.

Let's take a look at how you can keep your vape pen for far longer than its designated life span.

Charging Your Pen For The Full Amount of Time

We've all been there and by "we" I also include myself. How many of us have started charging the pen while we were doing something (playing video games, watching movies, hanging out with friends) and realized almost immediately after that you need to have a "toke"? I've done it, you've done it, and your friends have done it. It's an easy thing to not think about at all.

What happens next? Over time, your rechargeable vape will start to lose its charge, have virtually no charge at all, or take an extremely long time only for a couple of puffs.

What is Happening?

Regardless of if you own a 510 thread battery or a disposable pod battery, when you repeatedly plug your pen into the charging port, you are "stressing" the battery. On top of that, when you go to take a hit just to get whatever you can out of your cartridge before the pen dies again, you're adding another unhealthy stressor factor. This isn't "cheap" engineering, unfortunately. This is how these pens work. It's the same as your smartphone. If you are constantly plugging it in and unplugging it, you will wear down the battery.

The best way to deal with this is to just be patient when your pen is charging. Understandably one of the most "unpopular" resolutions to vape pen problems is that you just need to wait for 30 minutes to a full hour for your pen to charge.

Don't Leave Your Pen Charging Overnight

On the opposite side of the coin, are those who charge their pen overnight. I have also been guilty of this. We want our chargeable items to be ready for the next day. We leave our smartphones on the charging dock overnight, we leave our videogame controllers charging, and our laptops are always plugged in unless we're traveling, why not just do the same thing with our vape pens?

Here's the real deal: All of those items that you left charging overnight are not supposed to be.

Whoa, crazy right?

Leaving your items (especially your pen) charging overnight will slowly kill the battery life span. Just for another example, let's take a look at an electric vehicle. Right now, many EV companies are telling buyers not to charge their batteries all the way full. This is to cut down on how many EV drivers leave their cars plugged in overnight. The same battery that is in your EV is also in your vape pen....and cell phone...and computer...you get the idea.

Once your battery is approximately 80% full, pull it off the charger and throw your cartridge on. Over time, you will start to notice how your friend's vape pen isn't working for as long as yours is and this, my friends, is one of the big reasons why!

Use The Charging Dock That Your Pen Came With

Another common mistake is that when in a bind, you need to charge your pen with whatever you have. Now, it's not the worst thing in the world to use a charger that wasn't specific for your vape pen, but if you use it as the primary port, then your battery will absolutely lose its charge over time.

Different charging ports have different voltage levels. One of the biggest reasons why people don't have longevity for their vape pens is that they use the wrong ones.

Other charging ports will destroy your 5/10 vape battery as well.

"Super" or "Fast Chargers". We've seen them all over the place. You know the ones that I'm talking about. They're white (typically Samsung) and can charge your phone lightning-fast. Unfortunately, those devices were designed to go along with those charging docks. Your pen battery is far smaller than your smartphone battery. If you constantly use a "Lightning" charger, you will start to notice that, while your pen is charging very quickly, it won't stay charged for nearly as long as if you had used the original charger. Rechargeable vapes are a tricky device to maintain.

Last but not least, charging in your car or truck. We put this as the last option because many car chargers run at 5 volts - which is typically where you want your charger to be. The reason why we tell you to avoid this is not necessarily due to the voltage output of your vehicle, but the interior conditions. If you live in a place that gets really hot in the summer, it's best not to leave your pen inside. Those conditions can absolutely create an overheating issue with your battery. On top of that, if you have a cartridge with anything in it, the consistency can loosen, thus leading to leaking issues that can cause connection issues.

Charging A Disposable Vape Pen

A disposable vape pen is a pinnacle of vape pen engineering. It has taken virtually all of the technological innovation as the 510 thread vape pen and pod system. What it does that is so much better is that it gives users the ability to use their product without any added purchases. Instead of buying the vape pod battery and pod or vape cartridge.

When they first hit the market, they were low-powered and couldn't handle thicker wax. This was due to the fact that the disposable vape wasn't originally designed as a CBD vape pen. It was meant for juice. Thus, more power and leaking technology needed to be implemented to have the best vape pen battery.

Luckily charging your disposable vape is easier than ever. By including a rechargeable port, the disposable vape is now guaranteed to finish everything in the tank!
